The Mystery Inc. gang flushes out the culprits behind a robot-clown takeover at the circus (Carnival) and uncover the spooky goings-on at Salem's annual Halloween costume contest (Showdown). Per series formula, readers choose different paths to decide the characters' fate. The novelty is only so entertaining, though, and the abrupt endings will disappoint readers.
