      Alyssa Bresnahan's slow, deliberate enunciation and cadence reflect the uncertainty and ponderings of the main character, Vinnie, as she makes her way in a new school. Bresnahan's voice and tone are well suited to the unique characterizations in Paterson's latest novel.
