Police detective Beau Antelope turns once again to forensic psychologist Dr. Pepper Hunt, asking for her help as he interviews witnesses and looks for a killer. There are all kinds of suspects, from strippers and bosses to the two survivors of a tragic high school accident and those who know the secrets of the priest who was transferred after sexually abusing young boys. The murder investigation is just intriguing enough to keep readers turning the pages looking for answers. VERDICT Every suspect, along with Antelope and Dr. Pepper, takes a turn telling a version of the story. The accounts and short chapters break up the narrative, making it choppy and sometimes hard to follow.
