Spinning off from their extremely successful Left Behind series, Jenkins and LaHaye describe the odyssey of four kids from divergent backgrounds whose parents are characters in the adult novels. Using a pre-millennial interpretation of eschatology, we are shown how the lives of the children are changed in response to Jesus's Second Coming. This work is aimed at an audience of 9 and up and has a decidedly evangelical cast. The characterizations are not all that great but will appeal to the audience. Scott Shina's easy-going reading is fine. Vocal characterizations are weak but adequate, and his narration employs good inflection for emphasis or expression. M.T.F.
